"At the moment, we are exploring opportunities in power generation. I wouldn't want to give away too much but we have currently teamed up with Globeleq – one of Africa’s leading power companies to establish a 100MW IPP solar park here in Ethiopia" said Mr Samuel Tafesse, founder of Sunshine Investment Group, in his interview with Forbes.

Whether your goal is to bring power to a remote location or improve reliability and energy security, there is a microgrid that meets your needs. Microgrid categories are organized by their connection mode to the main grid (off-grid or grid-connected) and their type of ownership (facility or community). Categorizing microgrids is a priority because it allows for standardized designs that enable the creation of repeatable, modular, and scalable systems.
A consortium led by Enel Green Power has been selected as the preferred bidder for a 100 MW solar project in Metehara. The consortium will be investing approximately 120 million US dollars in the project. Ethiopia has all the potential to become a key market for Enel’s strategy in Africa due to its plentiful renewable resources, stable regulatory framework and electrification needs.
