Belgrade, Serbia – May 16, 2025 – In a remarkable recognition of environmental sustainability and clean energy innovation, an Ethiopian project titled “ Refurbishing Solar Systems ” has received a Special Commendation and Trophy from the independent jury of the UNECE International PPP Forum 2025.
Led by Inter Ethiopia Solutions, the project focuses on transforming end-of-life solar home systems and lithium-ion batteries into affordable, clean energy solutions for rural, off-grid communities in Ethiopia. This innovative approach, which combines circular economy principles with sustainable energy access, has gained international acclaim for its impact on reducing electronic waste and promoting renewable energy.
