The Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) of Ethiopia and the South Sudanese Electricity Corporation of South Sudan are desirous to interconnect their power systems.

To achieve such an interconnection, it is required to conduct a feasibility study which will analyze the impact of interconnecting on both countries power systems. The Ethiopian Electric Power and South Sudan electricity corporation have received financing from the African Development Bank for the implementation of the Ethiopia-South Sudan Power System interconnection feasibility study and intends to use the financing to hire a professional consulting firm to undertake the Ethiopia-South Sudan 230kV Power System interconnection feasibility study.
