The project is part of the National Elecrification program that Plans to reach 35% of the population by offgrid- electrification pathway by 2025

 The project is financed by African Development Bank (USD20 Million) and Ethiopian Govenrment (ETB161 million)

• 3 Chinese and 1 Korean Companies undertook the contract,
• The project will have a total Capacity of 8MW, 68.7 KM Medium Voltage and  233.3 KM Low Voltage DL,
• Planned to serve 145,000 people when commissioned,
• the villagges are selected from the 8 regions,
• the Government hopes to create Jobs and knowledge transfer
