The countries present alongside Ethiopia were Morocco, Mauritania, Egypt, Mozambique & Uganda. ย
To change this narrative, the Honorable Minister discussed the National Electrification Program that has plans to incorporate both on grid and off grid solutions to provide equitable access to all citizens by 2025. His Excellency further mentioned that it was paramount important to have partners like the UK to bridge the financing & technology gaps experienced within the sector. Additionally in these discussions the DFID off grid financing was brought up.
H.E Dr Eng Seleshi also spoke about the reforms underway in the energy sector in Ethiopia; these reforms aim at providing a conducive environment for private sector involvement in the energy sector especially in Power Generation among other reforms.
