A consultative workshop was organized by the Ministry of Water and Energy with an aim of establishing a technical advisory council on water and energy affairs in Ethiopia. 

As indicated in the workshop, the rationale behind establishing the water and energy affairs technical advisory council is to bring together scholars, professionals, contractors and consultants to create synergy that enable the water and energy sector players play a role in stirring and enhancing socio economic growth in the country. 

His Excellency Dr. Habtamu Ettefa, Minister of the Ministry of Water and Energy, points out in the opening speech that we were unable to tap and effectively utilize the water resources in the country for a variety of reasons for years. But through establishing such forums and engaging the scholars and professionals in the sector, we can advance the sector and support our country’s prosperity.

The consultative meeting was hell all day long and ended up with the election of the interim coordination and organizing committee of the water and energy advisory council.
